    Diesel P38 UNDER-heating

Due to my temp gauge currently sitting rather close to the blue than I like all the time - I may also be investigating a replacement stat. I do however think that I will probably not be sticking my fingers in the fan to check the viscous unit...lol I know you say experience, but I'm just...

P38 DSE Headlining and water ingress (roof and foot well)

Hi Guys.. I have a headlining issue...but its not like the other posts about the actual lining fabric sagging. Mine seams to the be whole unit itself not just the fabric. I have water (relatively small amounts) making its way in from the front drivers A-piler top (I have roof bars so was...

Pics of your RR in the snow...

I'd be interested on the fume situation when open windowed and tail wind... :) Sounds good though.

Advise please on P38 2.5 verses Vouge 200tdi?

Completely agree - I used to get 15mpg on my old classic running LPG.... at the time LPG was only 56ppl against 118 petrol. Now your looking at 72p against 122. Not so good if you ask me. Unless of course you can sort out filling the thing with household LPG but to remain legal need to declare...

    MOT fail..

Does the copper bush deform on removal... if so - doesn't that cause problems getting them back in? You can get new replacement ones from paddocks. You can also get the rubber thing is that's gone in this weather as well as a part.

    Expedition prepped RR's - Classics or P38's!

This probably brings up another question: What insurer do UK guys have on here.... ?? Do people have separate off road cover to normal day to day road use or all one policy?

    Expedition prepped RR's - Classics or P38's!

But where does the insurance companies sit with none factory mods? Its surly a way for them to wangle out of paying out if needed. I'd be worried of the downward force on the front with that sat so high up... what about air flow into the grille?

big loss of mpg on p38 diesel

Firstly apologies for the possible Hi-Jack... Traveller: I'm going to take a different stand to others. I'm genuinely interested in what you had to start with (if not an M51 engine) and what work you have done (with costs if you have them) so I can learn how things are done. To quote a...

Advise please on P38 2.5 verses Vouge 200tdi?

IMHO... although a bit limited. I would go for the BMW engine. The problem is the P38's computers and gizmo's that come with it. As has been said. The comfort comes with technology and that equals head takes when it goes wrong. Having said that.... you can usually trace it if you understand...

    Looking for a Classic

Flipping heck... that 94 classic for £10K... that's a typo isn't it?... From inspecting the photos and not even having a close look at the vehicle you can notice: 1) The rear tailgate has condensation (only window to have it) I would therefore suspect that the rear carpets are damp (leads to...

    select neutral and slow down

If you need to charge the battery a few times a week just to keep it topped up then I'd suspect the Battery condition. Your 14.4V when running is confirming that the Alternator is doing what it is supposed to be doing. The question is - Does the battery hold the charge. I wouldn't of thought...

My first Range Rover... and its problems!

    3. If the idle is lumpy it may be the DMF... not sure how this manifests itself to start with..etc Might be worth a search and hour of research to count out. It could also be connected to the injectors. 4. That temp sound same as mine. The slight rise in traffic sounds right (basic if engine...

big loss of mpg on p38 diesel

Guys... you can't be too hard on the old fella; its not his fault that he bought a V8 and now wishes he took the TDI...lol

    Expedition prepped RR's - Classics or P38's!

Does that winch set-up comply with Airbags...? looks too easy to nick the winch if you ask me; and at that hight... would the winch action just pull the front of the car downward thus play silly buggers with the EAS system?
  16. jwaldron

    Well, whadda ya think?

Looks a high price for a manual and not a soft dash either... looks in good nick though

big loss of mpg on p38 diesel

I must confess that my old V8 used to get 21mpg on a run from London to North Wales...but around town only about 12 to 14mpg... me DSE now gets 24mpg everywhere. Therefore; on a run the V8 was better than the DSE...but for everyday use the 24mpg against the 12 and infrequent use at 21mpg is...

    Britpart

Have you managed to get any other part provider on here? IMHO... Buy cheap, then you sometimes do buy twice. And on some parts.. that does carry heavy labour costs to do the job twice. BUT.... if you didn't have to watch the pennies and take your chances, then you'd buy genuine parts. I...
