Thanks guys for the advice i have been over the garage this morning and in all fairness the guy has put his hands up and admitted taking out the wrong bolt.I now have a courtesy car and and repairs/replacement are now in process.

they have done all the work in the past without issues and i did ask them if they were confident with the auto oil change because i knew it wasn't straight forward and they took it on.

Put mine back on with the steel wall plugs you use on hollow walls,the ones that come with a threaded bolt.then all you do is tighten the bolt with a screw driver and it nips the plug in place.the old case nut just knocks out dead easy to do .

Well finally got my front anti roll bar bushes done today.After trying to get to them from the top (no go, bolts would not shift) so it was going to be subframe off.Had to send this off to my local mechanic as my existing condition (Hernia in an awkward place)Job done £50 well pleased.:D
