    weekend plans boy's and girl's < (yella)

Hi lenny1969, how did you get the transfer box oil in, as the filler plug is high amongst the body work you can not even get a 1Lt filler bottle to fill up the transfer box and decant a 4 Lt bottle in to and continue filling up? I went and got a 700ml oil filler that has a long nossle and thumb...

Pics of My Disco Offroader/Green Laner

I must admit and agree with the rest the front bumper and winch assembly looks great, not too keen on the wheels though, every one to there own taste. :)

    Gutted.

Check on the windscreen gutters, i had a look on mine and there seems to be a bit of sealant from where the screen was replaced and i think there is a small hole in it as I had a stream come down the windscreen piller, will need to look at that before it wrecks the interior.

    Oh these radios

LOL, I tried all the above, including the freezer bit, to no avail, it just said "security" so the previous owners must have had the same problem, it is now in the big sky called a land fill! Put in a JVC with a cd shuttle unit, only to find the cd shuttle was too big by 1cm to fit under...

    Which is better off road

Mine is a Auto, have yet to ake it off road, must be the thought of ending up like some of the discoveries on the picture gallery. It gets lots of TLC may be it needs a thrashing every so often. As to who admires Auto's, my local garage does, £ signs flash up in their eyes every time I stop at...

    Radio Memory power.

Sorted! The purple and white cable was the radio memory supply, for some reason, I can only suggest is that the landy radio was replaced with another unit and the cable had been cut out of the iso block, connected it in to the normal loom and all the settings stay as they should. :D

    disco/freelander radio swap

If you have a pair of sub woofers in the rear door, you will find the amp behind the speakers (as per the hynes manual).

    Radio Memory power.

It was because I never noticed it also resetting, that was fixed due to a fuse blowing, there was a loose purple and white wire not doing any thing in the radio loom that touched the metal work and arc'd, will get the volt meter in there to see which one has a perm feed.

    Heater

I would disagree with MUDDEE, my heater on my '92 V8 pumps out buckets of heat, just as well it has an air con in it. :)

    Odd smell

Try having a closer look underneath and have a sniff to try and locate the area that it is coming from, ignore the strange looks from the neighbours. Check that you dont have a poly bag or road debris melted to the exhaust, nothing like a bit of road kill cooked on the hot metal work.

    Radio Memory power.

Thanks for the info, will try again tomorrow, also the strange thing that happens is it also resets the clock on the dash board  . Will post on the out come.

    Radio Memory power.

Has anyone fitted a non Land Rover radio and had problems with the radio set not keeping the station settings? just thought I would ask before I start ripping the looms out, I have used the default connectors that the old radio used and the pin outs look ok. You can turn the ignition off and...

    Radio Codes

I tried it on the one that was in my discovery, unfortunately did not work so I am going to put in my trusty JVC cd shuttle system, then at least I can have some beats going to work.

    Things to look out for?

Lenny, is there signs that it has been 2 different vehicles, i.e weld marks on chassis etc. as i have already bought my 2.5l V8i (ahm Petrol), where would you look?

HELP!!! What is this and do i need it?

One would go to the EGR valve, on the manifold, last in the series of pictures, as to the others, sorry I dont know, your local land rover dealer service department should be able to help.

HELP!!! What is this and do i need it?

The part looks a EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) control solenoid. This would only be installed on certain models with a conventional diesel injection system.

    Default Radio Code?

How would you put in 0000 if the radio has buttons numbered 1 - 6? I would expect the radio to have the code? on the display, mine has security! I will phone the local land rover dealer and see if they can help.
