    inlet manifold injection system advise

I got the impression that the idea was just to find a suitable injection manifold and then use an aftermarket system (was megasquirt mentioned) to run it. I'm running a 4.6 on 14cux (chipped) and its sweet.

    Serpentine vs v-belt

The 4 litre won't have a big hole in the top of the timing cover to stick a distributor in. The best of both worlds is the late 3.9 timing cover, most common in post '94 ish discovery's, which has the better water pump, the better oil pump (crank driven), the serpentine belt, and still has...

    inlet manifold injection system advise

I might be wrong, (I'm sure someone will correct me) but I seem to recall that the P76 block is a touch taller than all the other rover variants, therefore the heads are a little further apart, and has its own inlet manifold to suit. However, its not impossible to machine some 'spacers' to suit...

    3.9 into 4.2 will it go !

If the only component that is 'new' to the vehicle is the block, then all will be ok. and it will still be a 4.2

    3.9 into 4.2 will it go !

Just to clear up any confusion, a vee belt is about 10mm wide and has one 'V' and a serpentine belt is wide and flat with lots of 'V's on the underside. Just making sure that were all singing off the same hymm sheet

    3.9 into 4.2 will it go !

As far as I'm aware, if you use a serp front end, the whole lot will bolt together fine, but the keyway in the crankshaft nose will not be long enough to provide a positive drive to the front pulley, so although it will be sandwiched tight, it will be turned by friction alone. As for the...

    3.5 V8 not much power

Forgive me if I sound like an idiot, but surely a rolling road is basically driving/thrashing your car in a straight line? As I understand it, the VCU is only there to allow for the front prop turning a little faster than the rear prop when cornering? Therefore even if it was seized solid...

    Wet floor

My windscreen seal leaks around the bottom corner. When it rains you can watch the water pooling up on the top of the seal inside of the screen until it spills off , runs down the bulkhead behind the dash, and drips onto your foot. At which point I look up at the road again and swerve if necessary.

LR 90 200 TDi Starter Troubles

If you stick a decent jump lead straight from the neg terminal of the battery, to the body of the starter and it starts ok then its definatley a poor earth. Might be quicker to try this first, before you pull the car apart. Hope this helps, Dave

    Leveling a parked defender

Try and get hold of 4 bog standard defender jacks, try fleabay. They will locate in the two holes in the rear crossmember, and two holes in the end of the chassis under the front bumper. They are screw type jacks and will give you infinite adjustment Hope this helps, Dave

    Raptor Engineering Dashes, any good???

I can recommend the raptor dash, but make sure that you check, and double check your mearurements before you cut anything. Their template wasn't quite perfect, However the hole they cut in the front panel for my CB was absolutely spot on. (after supplying them with the make and model) As for...
