    Diesel/LPG Conversion

Allisport have a conversion kit. I spoke to several Landy owners on the Allisport stand at the 3 Counties LR show earlier this year and they all praised the performance and reliabilit. I've had LPG on cars and they worked great as well. If you can get to their premises they have a demo.

split charge relays / twin batteries

It's a good idea if you can fit it in. At least you won't affect the cars normal system if you melt the battery down. Don't expect split chargers to give too much current to the spare battery, usually enough to trickle charge and run a fridge also most standard car batteries will not cope with...

1996 Disco - RPM versus Indicated Speed Mismatch

Wayne I have a 1997 300tdi Auto. My Speedometer over reads by 4 mph when compared to my GPS. MPH is calculate by using the formulae distance x time. My GPS is infinitely more accurate with distance than a device that relies on pulses from a RPM counter and a tyre with an assumed circumference...

Alarm inspection for insurance Northwest area?

Stig If you have a factory fitted immobiliser then all insurers should accept you. Asking for proof can be as simple as you making a statement that if your telling lies then you won't get anything when your found out. You can also ask a Landrover dealer to confirm that your vehicle has a...

Tunit Plug in box - Can you ??

Mark I have no preference or bias to Tunit but they would say that wouldn't they. Just think about it for 1 sec. What does remapping do? If your not happy with the original remapping then remove it or have it remapped to fit your driving needs. DEFINATELY do not try to modify the modified. The...

    roof light bars

Unless your switches are like those massive levers used to direct lightning strikes to Frankenstein I suggest you use relays and fuses. First of all most switches are only rated to take a couple of amps and spot lamps (good uns) take more amps than a switch can handle. (Ohms Law) Volts x Amps =...

    Rear windows

Sorry to be pedantic but don't ever use wet & dry on electrical contacts it contains conductive material. If you must clean contacts use a fine file or glass (sand) paper and make certain you flush it clean afterwards otherwise that abrasive will do more harm than good. That's why I suggested...

First check check the fuse (remove, examine, clean and refit) then the lead connections to the switches. test the switches with a test meter. They might want a squirt of electrical contact cleaner (Maplins)

    Driving in snow

If you can't use studs get a CV6 and fill it with Garlic. The CV6 will go anywhere in any weather and the french will think your one of them. Garlic also covers up the stink of brandy which you'll need after driving a CV6 down a mountain in snow.

    Ignition Key Sticking in Barrel!!!!

Could it be that one of your keys is a poorly made replacement? Do you have any problems using the same key in the door locks? Do you have another key that works better if so try getting it cut again. A common fault with locks is people squirting them with WD40. all that does is wash away the...

    Disco 1 Alarm help!!

Kertir Your Jap import is most likely to have the same setup as mine. It's the ECU that does the immobilising. Its designed to operate automatically after you remove the key and after so many seconds delay. When you put the key back in and turn on the ignition it disarms the immobiliser. If...
