any sort of suction container with about a 5mm tube would do :) but why the hell you go to all the trouble of drilling out rivets i dont know :( its held up by 8 bolts surly you would find it easier undoing those

yes this is not hard, 6 bolts at front 4 at the back and 4 in the middle, but if you are unsure then best leave it to someone who knows what they doin, the last thing you want to be doing is leaving a few bolts loose when you put it back together,

yes your right by saying the car tells you when service is due but this is worked out on fuel consumption, so like ur car has only done 28k then the car has worked it out right. so you have serviced it to milage not age and service shcedule is 15k or every 12 months which ever comes 1st...

ahh yes remember lr changing the steering hose to a modified flat hose to eliminate a noise, damn i cant remember the reason :P

just wanted to rule out power steering out if that was faulting you woul;d get it at stand still aswell as moving so its some thing that gets strained by the extra load of turning, strain through the drivetrain as the viscous coupling tightens up which would lead to your garages diagnosis...

so the car has to be moving for noise to happen on full lock? or can you get it stationary?

yes there is a seal each side of the rear diff (rear drive shaft seals) unsure on part number though. they are in well tight aswell virtually glued in so a bit of force req to remove them the circlips are the driveshaft retaining clips

nice to see you kept services up to date :P proper schedule is every 12 months or 15k miles spark plugs every 4th service/4th year so i would change them change brake fluid and anti freeze warranty will be valid who ever ya use but never any arguements if lr dealer carries out oh...

yup thats your pre heater, good old freelander eh take it to dealer and ask them to look at it there is a new design air intake pipe which makes it quieter :) unless yours allready has it :(

you say you have the original codes from the back of your service book? these are for your original key and will not work with another blank key, each key has a different code

what if ya pull the fuse or disconnect the battery to see if that resets it. as long as you have radio code of course :)

wont fit the v6 because bumper is a different shape, not sure why it wont fit td4 (same bumper as 1.8)

it will be different 2001 model year onwards the ecu is attached to the modulator where as early model ecu were under drivers seat

yes you will need to drain the system as you will need to disconnect the pipes to fit new o rings this job is a doddle with a little bodgery take of your centre console side trim and drill a hole in the trim behind the trim you just taken off, u might need to drill afew times to get hole in...
