    any sort of suction container with about a 5mm tube would do :) but why the hell you go to all the trouble of drilling out rivets i dont know :( its held up by 8 bolts surly you would find it easier undoing those

    yes this is not hard, 6 bolts at front 4 at the back and 4 in the middle, but if you are unsure then best leave it to someone who knows what they doin, the last thing you want to be doing is leaving a few bolts loose when you put it back together,

    yes your right by saying the car tells you when service is due but this is worked out on fuel consumption, so like ur car has only done 28k then the car has worked it out right. so you have serviced it to milage not age and service shcedule is 15k or every 12 months which ever comes 1st...

    just wanted to rule out power steering out if that was faulting you woul;d get it at stand still aswell as moving so its some thing that gets strained by the extra load of turning, strain through the drivetrain as the viscous coupling tightens up which would lead to your garages diagnosis...

    yes there is a seal each side of the rear diff (rear drive shaft seals) unsure on part number though. they are in well tight aswell virtually glued in so a bit of force req to remove them the circlips are the driveshaft retaining clips

    yup thats your pre heater, good old freelander eh take it to dealer and ask them to look at it there is a new design air intake pipe which makes it quieter :) unless yours allready has it :(
