If you have an absorption fridge, make sure it's got plenty of ventilation, if not it'll be no use in Morocco. I thought ours had failed, it hadn't, it just couldn't get it cool enough. 20 below ambient is ok, but when it's 44 deg C it's not much cop, plus we had built ours into the rear storage...

If we were prepping again, we wouldn't go with the 2" lift, you only sink further down in the sand, and you do sink!!! Winch is a good extra, we definatley used ours (a lot) and so did oldun. Two of the 5 vehicles had a winch. Sand will get everywhere, the underside of ours now looks like...

We had Bearmarc blue springs +2 " lift and terrafirma hd+2 shocks on ours. Turns out one of the shocks had leaked so has been replaced under warranty. Chap from terrafirma asked 'Has it been off roading much' .... er, no not much

As spacedawg says, to get the best out of it you need to SWR it up and make sure it, and the cb have good earths. Ken probably had a good earth with it being on the bullbars. Roofracks are ok as long as you get a good earth to the vehicle. If you have plastic or rubber protectors on your roof...

    Snorkel

That's like the one we fit to ours. There are no fitting instructions with it, they don't speak any English. I fit ours after lots of marking up and test fitting / holding in place etc. Suffice to say it held out on our recent trip through the Moroccon desert and is still working a treat now...

So, lots of options for mapping. Depends on what tablet you're taking. Obviously you need to download the maps before you go. I used OpenStreetMaps on my pokey HTC desire, downloaded detailed map of morocco on the friday morning before we left. It has user contributed roads and tracks, even...

You'll also want a good tyre compressor. The t-max dual jobbies are pretty good, think Spacedawg had one. Mine wasn't too bad but they get bloody hot airing up 4 big tyres.
