    V8 idle stalling

    i recently had a problem with my 97 V8 not starting and also slight issues with tick over speed. Found that the gap on the Distributer base plate and pick up arm was to great(air gap haynes manual called it). Could always pick up the slack on the accelarator cable Daz

    on average they are about 54p ltr around here. I can get it at 50p ltr if i travel a bit but then ive lost the saving. Got an update for all the lpg stations for my satnav, so that helps

    Slight change to my last,it does make a difference while running,lumpyish. Anyway got Mr AA man out as now it wont start atall. Traced it down to the Distributor, The distributor is not giving out 0.5volts(or above) to trigger the coil/amplifier to switch on n off.... Only triggering...

    I'll have 2 at that price!!!! (gold plated terminals eh!!!!!!!!) But thats for a RR (ERR 5198) and my vin is above that range quoted. So prosume mine is ERR5595. OR CAN I USE THAT ONE? Confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    How does this sound to you, If i disconnect the air flow meter, it changes........didly squot....no change on tick over,driving or starting!!!!!! Air flow meter???

    Another update: when it wont start if i disconnect the airbox and place my hand over the end of the air mass meter(sealing it) it then starts?????? Just got to remove my hand quick or it take my hand off and then connect it back to the airbox??? Wierd!!!!!!

    Hi col, cant find a solonoid, i think it may be control by turning the fuel pump off. However if that is the case then would it not run when i spray 'easystart' in it??. The fuel must be ON to be running. Some one has suggested that it might be the fuel pressure regulater. Explained...

    I always start on petrol anyway, however you dont get a choice,it automatically starts on petrol,even if gas is selected until you go above 1500 revs. Just to make something clearer, now it has started once on 'easy start' it now starts every time on the key with no problems
