    Wading and air intake position

James May said it had been moved up to the top of the bonnet I wonder if it's got something to stop you opening the door in that situation :P

Best place to buy auto gearbox cooler

The pipes are a different metal to the cooler, so the threads corrode, so I'm not sure if plusgas will help :/

    Has anyone seen this

cutting chunks of the car off is quite a good way to reduce the number of problems!

    Hard to find current drain

To check whether the RF receiver is the problem, see if yours has a green spot (It's under the offside rear parcel shelf - little black box). If it doesn't it's not the latest version and will probably cause the battery to drain. If it does have a green spot there is a small chance that it's an...

Gearbox problem P38A 4.6 auto hse

Hmm, well that's a mystery that was never solved haha So when the TB is in neutral does that disconnect it from the gearbox rather than the wheels? Well in an auto I can see very little reason to coast in neutral due to the lack of lockup meaning it causes little drag, but in a manual it could...

Gearbox problem P38A 4.6 auto hse

So is it OK to coast with the gearbox in neutral but with the engine on if that's running the pump? That's interesting about the transfer pump, so putting the transfer box in neutral before towing is to protect the gearbox rather than the transfer box? Also just to add a fly :P when I had my...

Gearbox problem P38A 4.6 auto hse

So the wheels drive the prop shaft which drives the transfer box which drives the gearbox which is disconnected from the engine and thus the oil pump when in neutral?

Gearbox problem P38A 4.6 auto hse

if in neutral why does it matter.. Surely nothing is rotating? does the pump for the transfer box oil only run if the box is moving rather than the engine?

    Octane rating

Why's it called an octane rating if it's not to do with octane itself? Is it semi-archaic?

p38 has made me a better driver!

(Some of) This was absolutely the case for me! I went from a Clio to my P38 and now that it's gone and I'm back to a Clio drive it much slower (to the point of really annoying my mother who is firmly of the belief that you should power up to the red lights  ) The fastest I've taken...
