    ready to go

So I take it you can still tow the vehicles maximum towing capacity? (what I mean is after fitting, the towing capacity isn't reduced) where did you get it from btw, everywhere I've looked has stated that the one they sell is not to be used as a tow bar.

Goin off the topic a bit but that rear winch bumper, can you still tow with it? I've Been thinking of getting one because I don't fancy cutting my tub to fit a winch. Ur landy looks brill.

I really need some help now please somebody!

There is a possibility that the new pumps goosed, my mate got a ****part one for his 200 90 and he might aswell not have bothered for the good it did. Check the banjo fitting on the pump, there's a small rubber seal that fits to the banjo that goes inside the pump which if not fitted spot on...

How fast does your landy go...

Mine goes like sh1t off a shovel up hills (1988 2.5td) albeit being towed by a 08 plate defender due to cam belt failure. But never the less, my speedo registered 45mph whilst I was behind the wheel so it counts!

What's the Deepest you've ever taken your Defender?

That takes the term "drive thru carwash" to the next level!

1989 2.5td cooling fan not working

If ya look straight on from the front of the engine, on top of the head, right hand side, towards the baulkhead, just next to the turbo.

    Mud Tyres on Snow

I got some insa turbo special tracks for winter last year, I never got stuck once, I did neally roll my 90 off the cat and fiddle road trying to get over a 6' drift. After winching back on the road I ad another go and got over. I pulled many cars and vans without slipping (up rather steep hills)...

    bit of a lean on

It might be worth taking the front wheels off (on level ground) and take the spirit level to the wheel mounting face of the hub. If it's still showing that it's leaning on that hub then I'd be inclined to strip and rebuild the hub just to check for wear in any components. I may be wrong but I...

    19j turbo required

Thanks redhand, I will copy that as a guide. Maths ain't my strong point along with tyre sizes! I have tried all things suggested above, the wastgate operates freeley as it should and closes fully when actuator rod is attached. The dump valve operates freeley. (obviously with resistance) I...

    19j turbo required

There is a bit of puff from the rocker cover cap not a fog but noticable, I also removed the dipstick and kept my finger on the dipstick tube for a few seconds and there was next to no preassure there though, but would suggest worn rings. And that could explain it then with regards to the tyre...

    19j turbo required

Thanks sypher, Im going to go out in a bit and av a look and try what you have suggested, it ****es me off a bit really because whenever I ask a mechanic who should know what they are talking about just say stick a 200tdi in it (and don't bother giving any advice) which I will do eventually but...

    19j turbo required

Luckily enough he's not actually my mechanic, I try to do most things myself, I just asked if he had a boost gauge and explained what the problem was. Last weekend I changed the fuel filter anyway. I noticed some oil seeping around the side of each injector so I had them all out and each bore...

    19j turbo required

Cheers sypher, there's hardly any movement in the shaft, just a little up and down. I have been asking around for a boost gauge but it looks like I'm going to have to buy one. Someone (a mechanic) has also suggested that my cam my be breaking up in the ip because I have a miss fire around half...

    19j turbo required

To be honest I thought that so I had it out a while back and cleaned it well and re-oiled it (k&n) but no difference. The pipe from the compressor to inlet manifold when squose shut then the engine throttled won't go hard enough to push my hand open. There is no noise whatsoever from the turbo...

At the moment the engine is perfect.....at the moment, a bit of breathing out of the filler cap. It starts after 3-5 seconds of heat when cold and fires before a full revoloution, a little puff of smoke on start up and acceleration but dosent miss a beat. But over the past 6 months one minute...
