Td5 no power after parking up hill

Just been out, sat for a couple of mins at idle the put foot to the floor and the revs picked up instantly as it should... so it’s looking like maf at the moment then?

Td5 no power after parking up hill

And turns out it happens all the time, level or hill I just hadn’t noticed. It’s like fuel is draining back from the head or losing fuel pressure after being stood a short while

Td5 no power after parking up hill

Disconnected the maf, problem still there plus the Landy is generally more sluggish with it disconnected now

Td5 no power after parking up hill

I will disconnect the maf tomorrow anyway and try it on the hill in the yard, see if anything changes.

Td5 no power after parking up hill

That’s interesting, why might it be more of a problem after parking up tho facing up hill?

Td5 no power after parking up hill

I too believe it’s some kind of starvation, almost like fuel draining back. I’ve not noticed it too much facing down hill as by the time I need to apply power the engine would have sorted itself out. I had a poke around the regulator this morning, I couldn’t see any diesel and I got my hand...

Td5 no power after parking up hill

Yeah it’s there and fitted. Like I said, the problem with no power is most noticeable after parking and switching off facing up hill. Only have to be stopped a few mins before it plays up. I can have the handbrake on, out of gear and foot flat to the floor on acc pedal and it burbles and...

Td5 no power after parking up hill

Thanks for your reply tottot. I haven’t noticed any obvious damp spots but I’ll go through the connections and clean/check them anyway. That was my thought, fuel leaking back to the tank but as I’m not yet familiar with the Td5 I am a bit stumped where to start. Do you know much about the so...

Td5 no power after parking up hill

G’day I have a ex utility 110td5 which doesn’t like to move after being parked facing up hill for a short while. It starts ok but when pulling away it wants to stall, no power being delivered from the engine whatsoever. After 30 seconds it springs back to life and runs fine. No odd pump noises...

    Ex utility Td5 travel power

Hi all, Just recently bought an ex western power 110 td5 with most of the 110v Electrolux travel power fitted but was missing the generator which I’ve just picked up, however I’m not sure how it fits in the engine bay. I’ve got a bracket but it makes no sense. If anyone has one fitted to there...

    90/Def door help

Well my pb doors are past it, I think the luh ones look better too, plus I feel they’re more secure hence why I was happy obtaining the luh ones instead of pb. As for the strengthening bracket, I can make something that'll do. How come you’re having a new engine?

    90/Def door help

Capo, thank you for such a detailed reply, really helps me out. So your saying is the MUC2290 mechanisms should/do work with the later 90/defender striker? That’s good to hear as I’ve just googled the prices of the striker MUC2959 and they’re just shy of £50 ea with vat

    90/Def door help

Evening all, need some advice regarding door locks / fitting. I’ve just bought a pair of early 90/110 doors from the bay with lift up handles and wind up windows (with single outside handle). I think the lock part number is MUC2290. Anyway, the locks seem to be in good condition all be it...

Have you had any joy figuring out what’s going on yet SL?

    Defender 200tdi tapping noise

To be honest that appears different to my sound (same speed/frequency but appears deeper to mine) plus mine is more audible standing at the front of the engine and the sound appears to be resonating from the crank pulley area however it is noticeable inside the cab too.
