    no front one is a diferant seal with a lip round outer edge you press in seal until lip is tuching outer edge of hub

    have you got alathe or a mate with a lathe it is quite easey to make a tool to pres seal in square as I say I have a new seal that clearly states press to a depth of 4mm

    have you tried clipping off all brake hoses try pedal and then release one pipe at at a time to see how it changes stroke of pedal I think some one has suggested this but are any brake pipes bulging under pressure

    on looking in scrap bin this was an earley manifold withmanifold is an exhaust butterfly yours looks like later type so unless manifold is cracked not very likely the promlem

    you would have you would have to take off float bowl underneath carb held on with 6 screws the filters may have been taken off but might be worth checking but I don't think this iis the problem but you would at least this part of carb was clean have you taking off petrol supply to carbs switch...
