some electric dizis have ampflier mounted on side of them

I got this out of a v8 engine tuning manual but any manual for a range rover with a distributer should have this I would post it on internet but don't mknow how to do it silly old coot!!!

shouldn't it have an amplifier as well in a diagram I have of a lucas 35dm8 both wires from distributer go to ampflier and coil wires go to it as well

I fitted a brand new box 1 year 2 months 1500 started leaking at cylinder cover on taking of cover I inspected quad ring with magnifying glass and found little cris cross scratches all round out side edge fitted new seal now perfect
