Found a Disco 2 4.0 v8 with LPG cheap and it's clean as a whistle :) so gonna go back for a second look and test run with the old man, needs a new remote key as it's dodgy, and a passenger door locking motor.

The Syncromech in my gearbox (2nd gear) has gone, which means I get an annoying noise in 2nd etc, I've quite possibly got a 300 to break, so was wondering if I could swap the boxes? Mine seems lower geared too, tops out at 70/75

Guys, what are P38s like for rust? And what's their common problems?

Looking at a 4.6 HSE for a fraction under £2k, Has MOT etc low mileage, pretty good condition.

:( looks more and more likely that a Honda CRV could be replacing the 300, the old man won't up the budget, although may have a few more quid if I break the 300 for parts

Quite possibly thinking of selling up, I've no-where to store it, apart from mums driveway at the bottom of her garden, and I'm quite concerned about the thieving pikey scum that patrol the back lane there, and her drive is literally a pull in off the lane :(

It's not to replace the 200, it's to replace the 300 which has a rotten chassis, and has a several page mot failure sheet, the 200 has a nice 10month MOT left and sound chassis It's for my old man, we are gonna break the 300 - as I want the gearbox and it's too much work for him to contemplate...

This could end up being laid up for the winter now :( my mate who was using it & living with me insured it, he's now moved back to his house after a month of being separated, and he reckons he can't afford to insure it anymore, and I can't afford the 95 per month on a policy at this point before...
