I would go for the 300tdi . Part are cheap en no worries on the chassis. Chassis rust from inside to the outside , Only when you cut your chasis in half you know the reason why you should get a galv chassis ;-)

great project ! What kind of base primer you advice ? See that you using epoxy primer , but they also recommend to etch primer as base coat . What do u use when ?

Indeed not much to see :D, should you advice the half doors on a soft top? was doubting between half doors en tdci doors, went for the tdci ones, but arent painted yet and still don't know which are best allround

Have you got some pictures of the result ? I read elswhere soms advice of putting the soft top on the car an driving it whitout de pushbuttons for a month so the mohair could set a bit with the sun and wind influence . Mine has been wrapped a couple of months aswel , so its a bit knackerd aswel !

And they have to get out the car and opening the bonnet,..

Its a full rebuild ,1987 defender but galv chassis, new 300tdi+ auto box,tdci body .Skills isn't a problem but some advice won't hurt ;) . So i should drill and tap and mounth evrything ,and afterwards have it painted. Thx i will have a look at Toms one

Its from allweeltrim i think, its pp cages supplier of soft tops. Wel there isn't a lot of instruction manual :p

Ive bought a new galv chassis to replace my 87 chassis. Ive bought this with the td5/tdci rear fuel tank mounts option. Now ive got a tank guard and a plastic tank ,but i'm wonder how its strapt on ? The discoverys have a steel strap on top, but with the defender 90's i can't find how...
