I wouldn't bother trying to repair a civvy type tank like that - replacements are a reasonable price. Military (underseat fill) tanks are much more expensive for no apparent good reason that I can see. Possibly worth repair, but you'd have to sweat off the undershield to get at all the rot

You want to find out who made the conversion kit in the first place. Likely suspects could be Steve Parker Land Rovers, W E Phillips, or Motor and Diesel Engineering. If the adapter ring is cast aluminium, the makers name might be on the casting

I think on the series three the stalk switch carries the main headlamp current, no relays. The original switch lasts a decent length of time, but when it fails, owners tend to fit Britpart replacements, and they don't stand up well to the high current. OK with a couple of decent relays...
