    Bleed'n Brakes !

Had a sticky brake, i.e. a sticky (front) caliper. Took the wheels off and started to undo the brake lines. First the off-side ones, then the near-side ones. The brake pipes were recently re-done (not by me, is still a bit out of my league yet) Then I struggled to undo one of the near-side...

    Front electric windows not working

Another obvious one  is to make sure all relevant fuses and relays are good before you start fekkin about with the wires, connections, switches, etc. Just to know the central locking and elec windows are on 1 fuse on some types. (#11 under bonnet I believe)

    Front electric windows not working

Take the electric schematic from the (Haynes) manual and follow (and check) the the circuit from battery to window. You'll eventually will find the fault. Sounds like an obvious solution, but not often followed.

    stuck sump plug

Correct ! Spanners go from 27 straight to 30 I found out today. That's why I don't have 29

    stuck sump plug

Eventually I want to drain all debris from the sump as well, but for now that could be a solution. Meanwhile will keep giving it the WD40 treatment.

    stuck sump plug

That's my worry. I rather not change oil for the moment than change my sump. I did manage to get the oil filter off. That was at least 1/4 of the oil renewed. :cheer2:

    stuck sump plug

While searching for same problem with my Disco V8i, I came across this thread. Need 29mm (or 1-1/8 I think) ring spanner (The ONLY one I don't have :5bbanghead: ) and better get it. Soaking the plug in WD40 for a couple of days before I try again. I am afraid I'll damage the plug if I...

Hesitation under full throttle.. Better on LPG ?

Sounds to me it doesn't get the fuel/ air it needs on full throttle. But I could be wrong. Then again how often do you need full throttle with a 3.9 V8. I don't. Better leave it for now and investigate the engine's behaviour for a while. Jumping to conclusions can lead to additional...

    running on

Not that I have a diesel, but not uncommon as far as I know. The solenoid is one possibility. But also it could be build up of carbon in the cylinders. A problem that can come up when you use the car a lot on short trips. The old-fashion (traditional) solution is to bring the car on a long...

    Disco 1 1994 mods/changes

Hi guys, Looking for a donor vehicle for my '91 V8i In '94 there were, besides the engine, changes made to the Disco 1. Can someone tell me what these changes were, and especially if it affects spares that will not be compatible with my vehicle. This one is for the real Disco 1...

    MPG on LPG?

I pump litres, not Pounds. :beer2:

    Why do you have a V8 ?

On the motorway drive the V8 with a constant rpm rather than a constant speed. As far as I know fuel consumption is directly related to intake pressure (throttle position). More intake pressure (throttle down) means more fuel consumption. Even when no actual acceleration takes place. Most...

Driving to MoT station without tax, What's the rules?

That's right. As long as you can prove (i.e. though booking or other way) you are driving to your MoT-check you are fine without valid MoT or tax.
