Disco 2 A few issues proving difficult to resolve depite many new parts

Thanks for the reply :) I hear and agree with you, and doing that is all on the Cards in future but there are uncertainties and circumstances right now and I use this thing almost daily during working hours. I'm almost certain a re map won't cure the Vibration ;) I don't know for certain what...

Power steering to a early 90

I'm no Series / Defender numbering expert especially regarding Model designations and exact Engine fitted etc, hence in my earlier advice I did say I assumed a TDI, (obviously a wrong assumption) !! However I am a 59 year old professional garage business owner who has owned a fair few Range...

Power steering to a early 90

We were all new once Paul, certainly not a problem here, I doubt it is with the others either, and thanks for the comment ;) Forums normally work so that all regular members on a Forum can see all of each others threads / posts, other Forums have a private section for Staff to discuss stuff, i...

    Daves D2 TD5 Project

I have looked into this vibration (and a lack of pulling away power) thoroughly and am almost convinced I know what the issue is, and it seems this issue is also related to the "harmonic / vibration" and an occasional light tinkling noise that can be felt / heard in the Cabin...

Disco 2 A few issues proving difficult to resolve depite many new parts

An update on this thread :) So, I investigated everything you guys said re the lack of low down power and MAP, MAF, Wastegate etc etc are all fine. I am almost convinced I know what the lack of low down pulling away power issue is, and it seems this issue is also related to the "harmonic /...

No idea really could be either, but the important thing is you get that Belt Timing spot on and check all the items myself and the others in the other thread suggested. Not a moan, nothing to do with me at all, but I say this on other Forums which I moderate, 2 threads on the same subject gets...

    Broken and bent push rods

LOL, I just replied to this in the other (Power Steering Project) thread here :- https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/power-steering-to-a-early-90.372246/page-2#post-5233138 So I'll not copy and paste here ;) But yes, @paul griggs these guys know more than I and seem to ask the same...

Power steering to a early 90

Wow :( I'm assuming this is either a 200 TDI or 300 TDI ? ................. I am not that familiar with these Engines these days despite having had 2 of each in Discovery 1's but that was a helluva long while ago, but I do vaguely remember changing Cam Belts pro actively on them...

    Daves D2 TD5 Project

The Jobs on D15KOE are now getting smaller, mostly "Tidy stuff up small welding jobs". I'm currently welding in Mudflap Brackets and a few other small bits now, a few small bits at a time, Schutzing the areas as I go, so I don't get bored / fed up ;) Also there is the pee wee Oil Leak on the...

    Daves D2 TD5 Project

Managed to get that Halfshaft / Hub Carrier Seal done, changed the rear Axle Oil at the same time and, (same as at front), I installed a new Drain Plug and a Brass (as opposed to the nasty plastic) Filler Plug. It's been out for a thrash today, the rear Axle is now oil tight :) Shame the same...

    Daves D2 TD5 Project

So Mel cooked Brunch today .................. Phew, full up with grub, cross eyed, and thankfully just finished the Front Flange / Seal Kit ;) I'll fill the front Diff and the T/Fer Box in the morning now, it is Hot Tub / Beer 'O' Clock now ;) I have one more tiny drippy leak to do, might get...

    Daves D2 TD5 Project

Thanks, yes I have plans on treating some of the "greyed" Plastic bits when everything else is done, I have a nice Gel in my Paint shop that brings greyed plastic trims back up like new ;) It will as you say just look a whole lot fresher ;) I was under no illusion what I was taking on when I...

    Daves D2 TD5 Project

In between other work and having to go up the Hospital to get a big bit of swarf fished outta ma eyeball I have done more Disco'ing ;) So after the bits of welding and tidying up the rear end Chassis I decided it was time to tackle the Towbar, especially as now the Discovery sits a bit higher...

    Flat Bed Disco 2 Project

Yes those Wheelarches are the kinda thing I was talking about, and as you say, the flat top would be ideal for your Flat Bed ;) Including my Discovery I have 4 ongoing project vehicles :D :D :D Most are nearly done, my problem is when one Car gets to that stage something else turns up and gets...

    Flat Bed Disco 2 Project

Coming along nicely :) When I built a Recovery Truck years ago I found that some of the Commercial Vehicle Suppliers sold hefty black plastic wheel arches for Chassis Cabs loadsa different sizes available, not too expensive, and they worked out great for Wheel Tubs, no rust either ;) just an...
