If its the same as a 300(and I think it is) you unclip the gaiter from round the base of the gearstick, where it clips into the console. Lift the gaiter, there is a bolt that secure the top part of the gearstick to the bottom. Undo said bolt and the top part will lift off. The bolt is 13mm I...

If you do replace the HG, make sure you get the correct gasket. I think there are 4 types, 1 hole, 2 hole, three hole and No hole, with No hole being the thickest. Have fun.

You need to make sure the thermostat is working properly, as this little problem could cause other, nastier issues.

Probably an idea to replace with polybushes, as they last longer and can give a better ride

Floor insulation mats help. As do the volume control on the radio, and ear defenders!

I've only ever had one diff go, a 24. And that was 'cos the axle casing cracked, the oil drained out and BANG. So I wouldn't worry one bit.

I can't remember, but if you pull the control knobs off (may need pliers) and undo the screws, the fascia comes off, and I think you can get to the actual control 'bits'.
