Request for help - Not starting.

I didn't say that, your confusing me with the original poster... My point is that it could sound like the starter is turning over but not engaging, but what could be happening is that the bottom half of the engine is turning over without the top half... Hence the cambelt snapped.. If the...

If it initially started and then cut out why would the likely suspect be the starter?

Cambelt snapped? If you take the oil filler cap off can you see the camshaft? If so get someone to turn it over while you look at the camshaft... If the auxiliary belts turn but the camshaft doesn't then it could be your cambelt... Good luck

What have you done to your Landie today.

Finished the side exit exhaust... It's not that much louder...well, not at tick over... It does sound more purposeful when setting off... And really good when trying to pull something heavy/stuck... Not bad considering it stands me at sod all

What have you done to your Landie today.

Just made a side exit exhaust from an old 2.5td down pipe and a front shock absorber...

    Truck cab roof removal

I bought a safety devices roll hoop (£80 on eBay) which has a bracket for the seat belt to bolt to. I was going to put some series doors on but the windows do come in handy to direct the airflow around you so it's not like driving in a force 9 gale!

    Truck cab roof removal

70? I can't answer that but it doesn't at 60...I've never managed to get over that!

    Plastic roof rack? Surely not?

Id be amazed if the wheel wasn't bending the pipe down so much that it was just sat on his roof...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Took mine for its mot... It passed with 2 minor advisories....not bad going for something that's 22 years old... Now to decided, do I keep it? Or get a range rover classic... Decisions decisions!

Anyone used this stuff to line their bed ?

I used bitumen paint in several layers applied over a few weeks with the top 2 layers having sand mixed in... It's early days yet but now it's dried properly (according to the tin it takes up to 7 days to harden) it seems spot on... I only used one tin which cost £10 and I....er... Borrowed the...

90 soft top and roll cage

Your planning on off roading with your family in it? If so why go anywhere near slopes/side slopes... Stick to the flat and driving through mud... Much safer and less likely to end in a roll...

Talk me out of buying a Lightweight you bastids.

Make sure you only iron the inside of the leg so that you quickly gain the two tone look

Defender 90 - pick up to hardtop conversion

I cut the roof in half as I was getting peed off with getting wet, to hold the half roof in place I cut the ends off the sides... They aren't really any good to anyone... The rear door is fine.. I'll take a pic and send it over if your interested in that?

WS4x4 Winch Bumpers - Any good?

I wouldn't recommend them, I've got one on my 90 and it looks fantastic from a distance but up close it's not so pretty. Where the steel has been folded to form the cradle it's split (on both sides) and the 2 pieces of tube that stick out from the cradle are different lengths and one is welded...

    Pick-up on the school run

I've done this to the back of my 90 pick up... When the tailgate is closed its secure and watertight...although I'm sure it wouldn't suit everyone
