How's the conversion going?

Good good. Seen a few videos on YouTube and they seem as capable as I'd expect. Does anyone know if it's possible to fit rear seats in a commercial? I'd prefer a commercial but occasionally itd be handy to have seats fitted.

I guessed that would be the major problem but there must be people out there who green lane with theirs?

Hi all, At the moment I've got a defender 90 with the old 2.5 td which is a play toy and as such I don't tend to go to far afield in it. I'm toying with swapping to a freelander, the theory being that if I want to go greenlaning further afield then the freelander will be a lot better to get...

That's why I haven't fitted a winch to mine in the 9 months I've had it and used the recovery eyes on the bash plate rather than the ones on the bumper... You pays your money, you take your chances!

Nope, the head gasket will be warped/split/or maybe lifted. There is only 2 places that water and oil can contaminate each other. 1 is if the head gasket is shot and the other is if the engine itself is cracked. More likely it's the head gasket

A mate had similar problems with a 300tdi he fitted into a series...in the end dragged it round and round and eventually it ran... But only after the rag his dad had left in the air intake had been combusted!

Heard that rumour myself, think its more likely people use easy start etc to get them out of a bind and then never get round to fixing the underlying problem

Have you tried a drop of easy start?

Head gasket should have come up when it was pressure tested. What's the condition of your oil like?

Strangely enough I don't know or care if there's a belt or chain on this type of engine, (its a range rover, therefore I'm not interested) but what I was trying to do (like some others) is help and point the original poster in a direction which might of helped him. Maybe if the rivet counters...
