Which Tools For Cutting Mud Console & Dashboard?

Dremel and disc cutter... Whatever your fitting in the dash remember to allow space for the cb/radio/switch AND any wires which might come out of the back of it.... Obviously I didn't make such a cock up, nope...that extra cb hole was there when I bought it...honest!

What have you done to your Landie today.

Welded a patch on the rear cross member. It's only a temp repair as I'm planning on making a tubular cross member soon

    Do they all break down?

I personally think they are no worse than other makes but as has been said, they get pushed further and harder than most makes and so break more often. And the nature of this forum means that people come here with whatever the latest fault is. I've come to the conclusion that if I fix all of...

    Do they all break down?

As above, is the marque that unreliable? Or is it just that a forum like this illuminates all the problems?

Test drove 2 Disco 3s today

I used to be in land rover dealerships a lot (dropping off dead ones) and when I voiced this opinion to the sales manager he told me that having lots of old defenders running around is good for the image but old discos are bad...not sure how that works but he didn't seem that interested in...

    Mot failed :(

I was chatting to a local MOTer (not the one I use) who was saying that when something comes in with loads of obvious, easy fix faults (bulbs, wipers mainly) he goes to town on the vehicle and let's the owner get away with nothing, whereas if the owner obviously keeps on top of things like that...

    Thinking of buying one...

I've never done any laning as severe as that, most of the lanes around here (the fens) are not much more than rutted tracks around the edge of fields so I'm confident that the freelander would cope. I'm stuck in a catch 22..the freelander is better for covering the miles to these exotic places...

Converting a Freelander Commercial to normal

Funnily enough that's a similar set up to what I'm think of if I do get one. It'd be handy to have the option of rear seats, if and when I want them

    Thinking of buying one...

I've seen that people have fitted a lift kit but that seems to open up all sorts of issues. Point taken on the disco issue and I am considering it, particularly as I could get a 7 seater which ticks even more boxes. It's just I've never liked the look of a discovery.. Think I'll have a test...

    Swingers wanted

that's only 30 min from me... I could have taken a drive out, just for investigative purposes, obviously

    Thinking of buying one...

The sickness thing had crossed my mind... Maybe some sort of wipe clean flooring is needed! It'd only be occasional use, we live in the back of beyond and in the winter it'd be handy to be able to chuck the kids in the back should I need to...
