You need a new coolant bottle to fix the Low Coolant warning. The float absorbs the coolant. The replacement bottle is the one used in the Discovery4.
The first thing you do with electronics on these is usually a software update using IDS. Doesn't usually fix the problems, but at least the...
I average 20MPG with my 4.6HSE. On a steady run it will reach 24mpg and at 65mph with cruise control on it will even go above this. Runs only on Petrol. No gas thanks.
It is slightly modified though.:)
So what is the owner going to do? Repair it? Burn it?
Will send out an invoice on Monday. Thanks for your help with that other problem Jon. Needs fresh eyes to see things sometimes (even your eyes :D ).
Make sure you find a tuner who will give you a custom re-map, not just a generic one. The map has to be read from the ECU and then the data gets modified by eye, depending on the tuning parts fitted and things such as tyre size and transfer box ratio etc... If you've had a re-map and were...
You've got to realise that very often as a supplier you are fighting a battle you can't always win. You've got Allmakes/Britpart/Bearmach in one corner, PayPal/eBay/banks in another and DHL/Royal Mail etc in another.
It only takes one small thing to go wrong wrong in the supply chain and...
Check what the tax is. Back 5 years ago, you'd be looking to pay 50% tax on the value of an imported vehicle into Mombassa.
The other option is keeping the vehicle on a carnet and driving the vehicle over the boarder every 2 or 3 months to keep the carnet valid.
Also, not being funny but...
If the backing is a Genuine Part, it should come out with very little pursuasion provided you line both the arrows up. If the backing is Britpart, then they don't fit and very often the cover can't be rotated even when newly fitted.
Personal preference really. You will pay a premium for having the facelift version which only you can justify. I personally prefer the manual gearbox on the Discovery2 Td5.
How much are you looking at spending?
There is a TSB on the TOPIx site about this problem, or at least problems with hot and cold starting.
If it helps, you can test the flow rate at the filter by removing a pipe and checking that at least 180ml per 10 seconds is flowing at the pipe.
You can use a drop of Hylomar Blue, especially at the rear of the engine where they always appear to leak.
It is always a good idea to use a Genuine Part gasket as the aftermarket ones can sometime be badly made and don't fit well. Also store the gasket flat before fitting so it fits better.
