indeed i had exactly the same simptoms after have the bearings replaced turns out the garage that did it used cheapo bearings and they went again after 2000miles

will check that the mrs got a haynes manwell for crimbo :D

my feeling too lukily shes off the road while im waiting for the garage to reopen to fix the prop bearings again. to explain it better if you hold the steering wheel you can rock the wheel up and dwn and side to side it only moves a few mill and is not loose but dont feel rite if it was a road...

hi again thanks for the help with my last problem was indeed prop bearins my latest problem is i seem to have execessive play in the steering wheel seems like the bearing is on way out .wot i was woundering can i change the bearing or do i have to change the whole column ?:confused:

took it to garage and it is indeed the prop bearings is there any reason the would go so qwick

also dose it when engine is switched off and clutch depressed or not had a look underneath and to me it looks like the rear bearnin is not straight and if i pull the propshaft there seems to be 3-4 mm play theres also a washer that seems to just floating around doing nothing in front of the rear...

i really hope so cos i only had them replaced in july am hopin the garage made a hash of it really cant afford an ird at mo and being disabled and living in middle of nowhere my freebie is my lifeline
