    Spring Spacers

The point of lifting the chassis for most is so they can fit bigger tyres - its the bigger tyres that improves the ground clearance. If so you would be better of with 2 rather than 1 inch as it would limit tyre size. hope this helps

    Foundry 4x4

Should be ok. I've got some from Toddco (USA) which I'm waiting to fix (next sunny weekend). have a look at: www.discovery2.co.uk / 2" Suspension lift However, itrs not really something you can do piecemeal - you really need to change all the shocks and fit longer front springs at the same...

Air Suspension has got to 100k Change the bags or not?

Keep the bags in - buy a spare in the garage if you want just in case. Its a fairly straightforward change over.

Could you please provide a quick guide on how to remove the Ace and refit with a mechanical system? I'm ultimately thinking of relocating to Africa and the less complex the car is the better!

    TD5 vs well TD5

I think diff-lock was reincluded in 2004 as an optional extra in high spec models - so that may possibly account for why yours has it. In general transfer boxes starting with a 41D or 42D serial number have the diff lock mechanism The story on the diff lock and LT230 box is here...

    TD5 vs well TD5

I've a 2000 - I agree the 2003 has all the advantages - bar one... it will not have a diff lock present in the LT230 Transfer box wheras the earlier model will. it will cost an extra £350 and a lot more effort to fit Diff lock. Even so I'd go with the 2003 model.

    Td5 coolant leak

Coolant pump is an easy removal and replace (rated 2 spanners in the Haynes workshop manual). It does however need the coolant drained, turbo charger removed and (only if there is air conditioning) the drivebelt removed along with the air conditioning compressor. then remove the centrifugal oil...

    vibrationle frontr from possib

Typically vibration from the transfer box would indicate either lack of oil or worn bearings. However, I have heard of this happening if the diff lock hasnt been used for a while - the selector tend to "seize" (for want of a better word) from lack of use. Have a look at the diff-lock operating...

    Td5 coolant leak

I'll have a bash - I suspect there are few responses as it could be from anywhere and ran down the body work to drop where its dropped - you really need to properly support the car and get under to inspect (while the engine is running if necessary) and have a look. However it could be: damaged...

    Squeeking Consistent with Gearbox speed..

You havent mentioned if its a manual or automatic, but my first thought would be the same as James's - check the oil in both gearbox and transfer box. btw - topping up oil in transfer box requires some device to pump the oil into the filler, you cant really fill directly from an oil bottle.

    Anyone answer this ?

for what its worth I'd tend to agree with barmatt - I've known this with other cars and it was crap in the fuel tank creating a `butterfly' effect on fuel flow. Fill the tank and it redisturbs the crap but as the tank empties the crap gets sucked back towards the fuel lines. I had to remove the...

D2 largest tyre size without lift.

Many thanks for this link - but this has tyre size for the Disco 1. The discoveryTD5 webpage suggests different sizes are possible from the Disco1: www.discoverytd5.com However, I've since found this so I'm sorted thanks...

D2 largest tyre size without lift.

I understand that its possible to fit 265/75-16 tyres to a D2 TD5 without a lift and that there is only `minimal rubbing'. Anyone have these tyres on a non-lifted D2 and if so how is the drive ?

    Kangarooing Help

Is it also kangarooing on Gas? if so it could be a problem somewhere in the drivetrain (perhaps the torque converter locking up) in which case check the prop shafts as they may need greasing or replacing. If its not kangarooing on LPG then it will probably be a fuel system issue.
