I thought a FL2 might be a more reliable purchase but after looking into things it would seem that they are having serious and expensive issues with rear diff and steering problems, just read some of the posts on the Freelander section here so it would seem not a great alternative!

Whatever the cause of the problem is it is not acceptable and LR should have done a recall a long time ago! Why would I even consider buying one of these vehicles?

I have been considering purchasing a FL2 for a while now but in light of this and also the PAS problems i'm seriously having doubts that another Land Rover is the way to go which is a shame!

£4500 is still a reasonable price if the rest of the car is good!

100% reliable. really? Maybe for the first few years from new but still seem to suffer all the expensive niggles that Disco 3's are famous for after this time!

The London LEZ will only know if you re-register it as a commercial/light utility and then you are instantly banned from Central London!

My highly respected LR mechanic warned me off upgrading to one and said they're an unreliable money pit which I thought was very honest of him as he would be doing himself out of work so sadly when the time comes I will probably have to move away from LR ownership!

These Radios seem to all look identical but have been manufactured by various different company's like HK, Becker, Alpine, etc but is there any difference in quality of sound, i know the premium one is supposed to be the HK but to be honest i've yet to hear a really good standard equipment unit...

If you have good air-con as i do then a easy fix is just to seal both roofs up from the outside with a tube of Sikaflex sealant, takes an hour or two and job done!

It's such a rip-off, mine is registered June 2001 on a Y and i pay £285 yet if it had been registered 3 months earlier it would be £230!

It could be because they are all slow and down on power, especially the auto's like mine, but that's how it is!
