    Inlet manifold [chamber] swap

If the drive pin is the orange thing, then it wouldn't move. I may open it up anyway but I'm hoping that actually the motor is ok.

Lowest Mileage V6 for sale anywhere?

Where the NAS spec ever sold in the UK / Europe?

    V6 MAF sensor

Can this still go faulty in the same way as the MAF on a TD4? I'm trying to diagnose the lumpy running of my V6 and getting a long list of possible things.. symptoms of a dodgy MAF fit pretty well, except having read this the V6 doesn't have one :p. Misfire on cyl 2 is current leading...

    Inlet manifold [chamber] swap

Should the orange disc thing with the extrusion on the base of the VIS motor turn freely or should it be fairly rigid? I assumed it would be rigid if it was working correctly and loose if broken. Mine was rigid... I cleared the DTC codes and ran it again. The P1471 [VIS related] didn't come...

    Inlet manifold [chamber] swap

OK. So I got the power VIS motor off, and, if I'm honest - it looked pretty normal. I gave it a good shake and couldn't hear anything particular rattling about. I didn't get as far as opening it up although I guess I should. I did notice this mangle of cable ties holding the lower coils...

    Inlet manifold [chamber] swap

thanks. slowly getting to grips with this. my plan now is to pull it all apart over the weekend and see what's what. was just toying with trying to get some new (secondhand) VIS motors or indeed inlet manifold and gaskets here in advance. would do that if i could get guaranteed working cheap ish...

    Inlet manifold [chamber] swap

hi, thanks... have been doing so all morning. (don't tell my boss.) have found a number of threads that sort of all point to my problem. and it sounds like either a) one or both of the VIS Motors are faulty and rattling, and/or b) the butterfly valve in the manifold is faulty and rattling...

    Inlet manifold [chamber] swap

I seem to recall when I put the diagnostic tool on it that there was an error relating to VIS motor stuck open.. I will probably run through the details in the VIS_Motors pdf and check for some of those signs.

    Inlet manifold [chamber] swap

Hi Nodge... sorry, missed your reply. Thanks for the comments. I'm not sure what to do now and I'm getting confused as to where the fault lies - most of the talk seems to be surrounding some black plastic butterfly valves, whereas all a lot of the inlet manifold replacements I'm seeing are...

    Er. Is this normal?

Hmm, not as big as I remember. I tend to hear that a lot. Still, there's a mess.

    Er. Is this normal?

For sure... have been trying to find a replacement door seal for the rear door. The best eBay can do is £70... and up to £150 :(

What have you done to your Freelander today

I've just picked up a 2003 V6 with a medium sized list of issues. So over the last few days have investigated/sorted/fixed: * Passenger side electric window. Fortunately just a dodgy switch as opposed to anything worse, so new switch on order. * Sunroof - was dead. Switch was disconnected -...

    Er. Is this normal?

Every good argument starts with "hey! Don't know what we're talking about but here's my opinion!" That's the internet for you. But no, you're right. You, bushwackers "missus" (of whatever gender) everyone else on this forum and my 6 week old son all know what every bottle does. It's just...
