Hi all I'm new to this site just want to learn more about my w reg td5 defender 110

Welcome to the most active LR forum around! Do you mean it is a WA1245... Chassis number or what does this stand for? Don't forget that number plates don't mean anything outside the particular country. For example my Disco 2's number plate corresponds to 1996 but it isn't.

    Starter relay

a 200 tdi doesn't have an immobilizer. Check if there is voltage getting to the starter. If yes, tap the bendix and see whether it wants to move. If there is no voltage it is the relay.

    Clutch slave 300 / TD5

there is a slight difference in the length of travel. But yes, you can fit the standard td5 one to the 300tdi, it fits. FTC5072 is the 300tdi and FTC5202 the td5 one ( been too many years in this, maybe they change the part numbers again)

    Clutch slave failure Freelander 1

That is fine @Dirk Pitt. UUB000070 is the part number (suppose it is the same. There is a Magnetti Marelli one which is OEM, metal and 2 years warranty. Had a Rover 75 in France, it was the only non Land Rover I had in 20 years. It was my long distance luxury treat. Bought it for €1200 and no...

    Clutch slave failure Freelander 1

8n case it is not a td4 it comes as a unit with the master cylinder. Get OEM. In case it is a td4 it come with the release bearing, like in the Puma.. That stupid concept means you have to drop the box to change it. Even more of a reason to get OEM

    Classic Rear diff problems

8 When my A series front diff which was the original one from 1983 made a really horrible sound that made my boss drop the transfer box ( well it didn't do any harm to give it new washers and output bearings) I was proud to be right :D and swapped it for a rear one from a 1990 one I had lying...

    lost keyfob p38 asr1940

We had the case that a key was lost in the garage. So we had to go to a locksmith 140kms away and he could make the key from the barrel and with the barcode I read from the BECM and confirmed by Bearmach. Yes it worked. But you can't use the door lock for a pattern, you need to take out the...

2002 L322 Column lock not activating , air suspension inactive , no data link on diagnostic

I second that, have seen a lot of green oxidation on the RH rear side (hope that is what you mean) under the fuse and relay box and inside the connectors. A classic symptom is that it believes the tailgate is open

    lost keyfob p38 asr1940

You can get the blade cut from any good locksmith. Well know Range Rover forum member Marty will soon sell keys I hear, so here is the future solution. Main dealers in the US and Central america don't sell keys now so forget theat. Even Bearmach can't order them now. But, you can happily live...

Again: EWS and TD4 swap- help needed

Please clarify @Nodge68 @andyfreelandy I had once a big struggle with a BMW x5, my mate had towed it in on a tow truck and I had next to no fault description. It turned out to be the coil, but that I could see on the L322 diagnostics. Unfortunately the l322 module isn't talking to the...

    Disco 2 ECU wiring fault

Thank you @mystery I have been looking for this for ages. Have two harnesses to repair. Don't use sealant on the Plug. it always ends up somewhere in the finer oil conducts of your engine. Remember to change the injector harness at least every two years, use an OEM one and place the O rings...

Good point. We are having a tropical downpour so will have to wait a bit, don't want to soak the cables. It is 2pm here so there is time to reef the EWS out again. Pig to get to the plug.
