Just for the record, I used part number ESR76 and it's identical to the original. I was disappointed it doesn't have a drain plug, but it fit without mods. I still wonder whether I could've used the newer rad (ESR203) and gotten something that easily fit AND had a drain plug, but I was skeered...

Rad is going and I want to replace it with a genuine part. Parts catalog says ESR76 is the original part, but it doesn't have a drain plug and .... ESR203 seems to be a newer, cheaper, similar part. Unfortunately I can't find anything saying ESR203 supersedes ESR76. Any thoughts? Contacted...

Ah thanks. It does sound like a useful change. There's a brass bleeder plug on mine, but it doesn't have a bleeder.

Another daft question here... I've seen voltmeters fitted before, but would someone kindly explain why they're useful? I.e. what do I gain by knowing there's currently 12.4V or 11.8V coursing thru my bus?

MTM - what's this about plastic bungs and bleeder nipples? I don't recall seeing anything like that, but since my new rad hasn't arrived yet (been on order 3 weeks and counting!) there's still time to make improvements. Probably a daft question, but could you point me in the right direction?
