Have you had a look at the construction and use regs or spoken to VOSA, as I think there is a maximum distance from the side of a cab to the edge of a load bed before you need extra markers or some thing like that cant remmember.

Do you recon you could do it the other way the middle section being overlapped by the front and rear???

You can buy x-overs for the oil cooler connections. Theres normally some new ones on fleabay for £80+
