    Running on Bio

I've never seen any forum mention having to alter the timing on a diesel to get it to run on veg oil or bio, I used to run a 2l Zafira on SVO from Morrisons, varying the ration of veg to dino according to the time of year, and it was sometimes a bit reluctant to fire-up on a heavy mix of SVO if...

    Tool Size, fnarr, fnarr

I think it sounds like good practice to mark the alignment if only to save time when refitting. Liked the photo-file Hippo, just wondered how you managed to apply the correct torq to the vcu bolts as they're masked by the uv joints. It had occurred to me to pop the centres out of the uv joints...

Thanks for the answers (all of you) and I'll be ordering a set soon. The manual says lift a wheel off the ground and rotate it to allow access to the propshaft bolts, will this be easier than pushing a hippo 10"?

No it's not a question about your little (or big) old man, but one regarding Torx bits.... Looking at the shafts (sorry, drive-shafts) on my TD4, there looks to be a good variety of male headed torx bolts holding all the broken bits together, so looks like I need to invest in yet another set...

If your Staffie's anything like ours, it'll have to be made of concrete, anything softer is seen as a chew.

    Smoking freelander

My Mondeo was doing this, cleaned the maf sensor, (the sensor wires get coated with particles in the air (despite the air filter) and send false readings to the ecu) and the connector plug with electrical contact cleaner, and put dielectric grease in the plug contacts, smoke no-more. I've...

    Duff brakes - still!

Glad to hear the happy ending Spacemonkey. During the thread there were a few mentions of drum verses disc brakes....according to the Haynes Freelander book, LandRover decided on drums on the rear instead of their usual rear disks for a few reasons; - the Freelander was aimed at car drivers who...

Newbie. Synergy 2 check engine light has come on

I have a Synergy1 and an egr bypass on my Mondeo 2.2, it makes a fantastic difference. Recently it started smoking quite a bit on starting it, cleaned the maf with electrical cleaner and a cotton bud (very carefully) as well as the contacts, then smeared some of that electrical silicone grease...

    Leaking Rear Diff, 2wd conversion?

Thanks for the reply, see what you mean, it must be the cv joint itself holding the hub together, though I'm guessing it would have to be stripped down to stop it flaying about as the wheels turned........

I'm inspired, love the walnut, I fitted a leather gear-lever gaiter from ebay, didn't have any clips on it so it's a floppy fit but looks ok.

    Leaking Rear Diff, 2wd conversion?

Hello to you all, brand new to the forum and I've recently bought a TD4 Freelander 3dr, as a second car to use when the wife gives me permission to go shooting, or even if we have bad weather again! I bought it cheap off ebay, expecting problems, and it looks like I've got them  Went for...
