Right just to set it straight It came out of a 69 s2a ambulance Bell housing is s2 with clutch slave on offside and is vertical Gearbox was an all syncro 4speed unit As far as I know the casing is the same for s2 with 3rd/4th syncro as this one but it may be best to do some checking I'm more...

It'll look original till you open the bonnet Ok I guess the axles are a little wider to Just make sure you use the right body parts Nobody will notice lol

I found that the shoe adjusters were as worn as the ones I took off so I couldn't get enough adjustment on some of the wheels

It's not the supplier that's as important as the make of parts your getting

Depends what you start with and what you want to end up with Me I would go big v8 lt85 gearbox and lt230 transfer box then go for a pair of modified axles (defy or disc) great big tyres and power steering Should keep you busy for a couple of weeks lol

The bell housing is 400mm x 400mm The back of the box is 200mm x300mm Total lengh is 500mm So year fairly big and heavy Guess you don't realise till you weight it I always thought it was light lol

The casing isnt that heavy Maybe 10kg I will find me scales later and work it out if you want

I got a complete s2/3 gearbox casing with bell housing going for £20 if you want it

I got a full set of ****part brakes a year ago Didn't fit to great but I got them in The shoe adjusters were crap But after some messing all was well Blow the gearbox about 7 months later She been sitting now for a while and now I see brake fluid leaking out of the wheel Not gonna be buying...

As far as I remember it don't matter where the exhaust exits the vehicle as long as the tail pipe end is flush or out from under the body and the nobody can cut orburn themselves on it as the pass

Probably very silly idea but What about moding the ralco pin/steering arm from a series to fit the r/r swivel housing That would sort the steering arm clearance prob just have to make steering arms to fit the lengh

Lt77 to start I think then changed to the lt85 only on the v8 but that was later I think the lt77 gearbox is the same just different bellhousing and input shaft If you don't take the v8 gearbox anychance I could get a look in I need a box for my v8
