    Never heard of an all in one light on a landy More likely no side lights in the wing or they were not drilled due to choice of location Either above or beside each other May find markings on the inside the wing to indicate this

    I don't even do that All modern largeish welders have surge protection built into them But for all others then either disconnect the battery leads or you can get a spike catcher that goes across the battery Been welding for years and never had a problem touch wood

    If the carb is getting really hot it could be causing fuel delivery problems as in fuel evaporating or vaperising to fast so not entering the cylinders Isn't there a heat sink or heat sheld between the 2 manifolds ??
