How much petrol do you add to it? I've read someone else's thread that they reckon bout 1/2L P to 10L of SVO is this about right?

Bad news on the veg oil front!

Ok cheers mate, i'm just starting to get into it, and my first lot just put in 30L SVO 60L D, but don't can't decide if i'm going to carry on running on it or not. If i do i probably won't go more than 30/60 mix anyway. Might just run on biodiesel from a supplier, that would be the easier way to...

Bad news on the veg oil front!

Hi, I had a look at the veg oil in costco, and they had 2 diferent 20L drums but they both have got additives in, one being an antifoaming agent. I read on one of the threads on here that it shouldn't have any additives (i.e 100% veg oil or rapeseed oil) especially not the antifoaming agent.

    door spring gone

I've had my disco 2 1/2 years, when I bought it it had a dodgy door spring. You have to hold the button up and then open the door. I haven't bothered fixing it yet, but think I will be doing it soon. Anyway i've had 2 mot's and passed fine with the dodgy spring, didn't even get it on the...

    Stuck rear halfshaft

Yeah it's a right pain. If you have to replace the stub axle, which i'm sure you prob will, make sure you give each bolt lot's of little gentle taps with a hammer. The first one I undid bloody sheared off, gave each one lot's of little taps after that and the rest were fine.

    Starting problem

Have a quick look to make sure that the battery connections are tight, I once had a car with exactly the same symptoms, some times it started and some times it didn't, cut along story short tightened both connections, it was spot on every time after that. One connection hardly went in, the other...

    Breakers (Notts/Derby) Area

I was just about to suggest hi range, someone suggested them to me at work. Do they strip the bits off and have them sat on the shelf? Or do you have to get all the bits off the landies you want?

    Stuck rear halfshaft

No sorry mate, it must have been along day when i first read your post, I got it in my head that it was the hub you were struggling to get off. I tapped the half shaft on each of the edges where the bolt holes are all the way round it (in a sort of outward direction, if that makes sense). Then...

    2006 Disco 3 TDV6 catching fire/warranty

Yeah i think it's unfair that there expecting you to pay anything extra, on the basis that you weren't expecting to pay anything like that just yet, and also you could have been seriously hurt, so i'm surprised their not bending over backwards to see you right. Mind you it is a main stealer's...

    Stuck rear halfshaft

Hi mate, I had similar problem with mine, went underneath for a look round one sun afternoon as you do!!;) I found grease all round the inside of the tyre, jacked it up wiggled the wheel and I can't describe how much it moved, but I'm surprised the wheel stayed on! It was a completely nakered...

Help required for a newbie !!!

Mine was fine to drive, then I'd come to a junction after about 15 mins of it running. I then pulled off round the round about, and it just crawled along bellowing out smoke. Pulled over and switched it off for five minutes and then it was fine until i got to work 10 mins later. The pipe was...

Help required for a newbie !!!

Hi mate Have you checked all the air inlet pipes? I had a similar problem that turned out to be the 90 degree bent pipe had collapsed inside and wasn't letting the air in.

    Bio Diesel on the Forecourt

I currently get it for 92.9p litre. How much are they charging for it at Morrisons? How long have they been supplying it (roughley)? I run my 300tdi on bio without a problem, but i'm sure i've read on here that the TD5's don't agree with it. Think it might have been summat to do with the fuel...

    Power steering

Ok cheers, I'll try backing the adjustment back off abit. It's got self tensioning tensioner on the belt, but will change that as well i think. Do you think I'm likely to do any damage to the box or pump, I'm not going to be able to do anything with it for a few day's?

    Power steering

Thanks for the replies The Fluid isn't low, I wouldn't say that the steering particularly self centres itself, but it's been like that for a while. Would this mean that the box is too tight? So maybe it is a worn belt, how often do they generally go any idea's? I put a new 1 on bout year an...
