Thanks guys. I'll leave that well alone then. Its a bit dirty so i think i'll give it a clean with contact cleaner then wrap some gaffa tape round the end of it to stop the muck getting into it.

Bought some goggles and finished wire brushing the chassis(it wasn't too bad)then used up the rest of my hammerite paint on the bits i wire brushed.Sprayed some graphite powder into all the locks.Found a pair of molegrips and £2.30 in the fuse box under the drivers seat.

Wire brushed the chassis at the back and painted the rear cross member with Hammerite paint..I'll be buying some goggles before i do anymore.Sunglasses are **** at keeping muck out your eyes.Who'd have guessed?
