    Is it definately the actuator at fault and not the waste gate mechanism jamming up on the turbo?? easy to check just disconnect the arm off the actuator and see if the waste gate mechanism moves nice and freely.

    You can buy them seperately, but get it set up by a profesional as the set up tolerances are very fine...... the wrong set up will cause all sorts of issues

    and the answer to your question on the board is they are all different....... If it turns out you have a faulty board I have a good working one that may interest you? It's not uncommon for abs ecu's to go faulty on freelanders Iv'e just spent ages trying to source one for mine similar fault...

    Just A quick thing to try before you condem the abs ecu..... Disconnect the battery and leave it disconnected for 30 to 40 minutes. this will totally discharge any ecu's, relays, diodes ect ect.... You never know it may do the trick.

    All I can say as a Tester myself is report them to the ministry of transport and hopefully they may send out a mystery shopper so to speak, you never know they might get caught out and get a slap on the wrist. You do have to be so careful where you send your vehicle for any kind of work...

    What tools will I need???

    I'm just going to remove the whole prop including VCU, so won't be removing the VCU from the prop. So I just need a set of spanners, socket and torx set??

    I do some mobile work and have plenty of diag kit I usually charge £20 for a code read..... surely there must be someone up your way who can do this??? ;)

    I would defo remove top and bottom rad hoses and check for the flow rate through the rad...... won't cost you anything and still to me does seem very suspect.

    Don't want to be a stick in the mud but I dont think putting the external temp sensor under the door trim will be very accurate as it will be drawing a bit of heat from the interior of the vehicle...... Most manufacturors mount them behind the front bumper. Does look like a neat bit of kit...

    Could be a stone or some kind of foreign body trapped behind your brake disc back plate? Try jacking it up on the suspect side and giving the wheel a spin to confirm....
