    Pads just standard mintex .In fact they are the second new set I have tried in case the first ones were not flat.

    Hi all. I wondered if anyone has seen an odd wear pattern on rear discs where the pads are only acting on the outer half inch surface of the disc? They are new discs and pads. Pistons and sliders are free. It's like the discs are thicker on the outside edge than the rest of the friction surface...

    I agree with that. PO poly bushed my P38 and the ride quality has suffered on anything but an ultra smooth surface, and where do you find them now?

    Replaced the P38's non functioning vcu and the uj's on front prop shaft.

    Replaced crusty wiring to the high level brake light on the p38. It now works as it should.

    Yes afraid so. When I have ever sold a car on line I try to show it warts and all so any viewers are not disappointed when they check the car out in person. I leave the reg. on show so they can check MOT history also. Hidden reg. numbers make me suspicious. Maybe I am just too cynical?

    Replaced coolant thermostat on the P38 DT as she wouldn't warm up. Original BMW marked 1994 thermostat stuck in open position. Had the same occur on my previous P38 diesel with original stat. Removed engine cooling fan and shroud as viscous clutch not operating as on my previous P38 also. Next...

    Well she passed first test in 4 years...Usual tester's CYA advisories about rust. So that's one more saved from the crusher

    My "farmer's spec" TD. No cruise. Cloth seats. No sun roof. No wood. Missing stereo. It does come however with the "rust pack" and remote C/L delete.

    Today I Started to trace ABS fault. BTW when I changed ATF in the Transmission the sump pan had a large dent in it and the plastic pick up pipe was damaged and split top to bottom. How it was sucking any oil up I have no idea? The box still worked though!

    Changed ATF in transmission and transfer box. BTW transmission took 5litres to refill so I guess 4.5 litres left in the system? Continue sill repairs.

    Continued welding repairs to rotted sills. Great fun.
