    My 109" Series 3 :)

I have used a company called "nookys nuts" for imperial nuts & bolts on an old motorbike, they do mail order. I have a series 3 truck cab (88) and cant believe how much longer your truck looks. Great truck, keep up the good work.

    Leaf springs

Yes good point but even with spings in perfect condition, with a pick up there is no weight over the rear axle compared with a van back with seating for four. I will try giving them a good rebuild first.

    Leaf springs

Anyone tried removing leaves from their springs? I have an 88 truck cab and the rear springs are way to stiff leading to a very hard ride, I would like to remove a couple of leaves to improve the ride. I realise I could buy parabolics but prefer to modify...

    Bad shuddering and rattles.

Sounds like the brakes could be binding. Try jacking up each wheel in turn, spin the wheel to check it moves freely, apply handbrake then release again, respin wheel then try the same with the footbrake.

    1976 series 3 rebuild

Looking great, I like the copper pipe idea for the heater feed, very smart. Are you keeping the standard steering wheel?

    Opinions appreciated

You seem to be under the impresion that any car over 30 years old will not need an MOT. If only that was right! To be mot exempt it has to be pre 1960. To qualify for free road tax it must be 1973 or older. But at least the insurance will be reasonable.

    1970 series 3 ??

For 1970 the headlamps would be in the wings, even if it was a late 2A. If they are in the grill be very wary.

    Windscreen wiper motor

Hi Sam, mine is the same as yours, on and off, single speed only. Was there a switch with another position for two speeds?

    Warning light

Hi, I replaced a length of the live feed to the coil today, it was a bit charred. All fine but the orange "cold start" warning light now comes on and remains on while it is driven. Any ideas on why this is? I did not disconect any other wiring.

I've no idea how fast my series 3 goes, the speedo has not worked since I bought it!
