    Series pic's

60? Very impressive...mine will only do that after putting up a fight. Shame you didn't get more photos, but then I think the same about every car I ever sold. Do you know what the reg was?

Did you keep the standard gearing in it? Would be slow but torquey like my 1-Ton. Did you get any other photos of it? Funnily enough thats not the first IIB I heard of earning its keep moving beehives...

My new series II2 a non runner?

Thats one really nice looking series! E reg would be a 67 so the wiper motor is right, I think its the windscreen thats earlier. There should be a cover plate over the wiper motor. I think the bonnet hinges should have been 3 bolt type by now, but thats not an issue really and I'm not 100% sure...

2.6 noise levels, mpg and top speeds?

There were far more six cylinder engines put into standard utilities and station wagons than specials like the FCs and 1-tons, probably ten times as many. The chassis number quoted is for a six cylinder utility. The gearbox will have the same ratios as a four cylinder vehicle and will take an...

    An 88 for the Mrs.

Spent the day on the 88" recently, got the wings off and a few other smaller bits. Needs new footwells and door pillars, but the top edge of the bulkhead is mint!

    A frame towing

I have seen a couple of series trucks that were towed with a-frames, the transfer boxes blew up, literally! When towing like this you must, must, must ensure the red lever is forwards and the vehicle is in 2wd - ideally with the lever unable to move and go into "neutral" or low range. I use...

    My 110 USW

Yeah, nor can I, guess its just too much hassle for a model they aren't really interested in. Mine is mounted on the back of the cubby box.

    My 110 USW

Sadly you can't get one fitted by the factory, it would have saved a lot of hassle if you could - I had to get it fitted my my local VOSA approved tacho centre once I had got my mitts on it.

And lastly, it now sports an appropriate spare wheel cover, and a coat of waxoyl on the chassis and inside the bulkhead.

    speed limiter

My brand new 110 is scary enough at 70 (actually its quite nice, but you know what I mean) wouldn't really want to go any quicker, and don't see any need to. Plan your journeys properly and you won't need to either. All of us should know just how wobbly a Defender feels when you have to...
