    'New' P38 - a few problems!

I had similar problems with EAS. While waiting for diagnostic software you could do the following bypass as follows: 2no 6mm airline push fit tees, 2no inflation stems - cut from bicycle tubes or tubeless tyre valves, when trimmed back they are by chance 6mm!! So I rigged as per pics...

Get yourself one of these reset/kicker plugs Range Rover P38 EAS Nano Kicker Suspension Reset Tool | eBay Even if you sort things out and have a nanocom or other diagnostic you still have to drag out the laptop to do reset. As the systems get older I am convinced there are gremlins which...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Sorted out the charging. My battery was going flat. When I checked the charging it was only getting to 13.8v instead of 14.4v. I replaced the regulator/brushes pack on the rear of the alternator. The brushes were well worn. Its only a 20min job and now charges at 14.4. Got it on fleabay VR-VW010

    EAS pump question...

After 10 or 15min of journey you could unplug the plug in the eas box which will stop it running

    Opening tailgate, broken button??

I managed it by drilling three holes in the said flap opposite the screws that retain the door card. But it is a struggle to get the card off. You can then easily flick the mechanism to open. Alternatively you could use a holesaw opposite the mechanism which maybe you could plug afterwards...

    EAS Compressor not cutting in

If you do fit this switch also fit an air pressure guage in the dash. Then you can see when you need air. I have this fitted and usually maintain the air at 60-120psi. There is no need imo for the high pressure it normally runs at. If you wait for the flashing lights you will be too late, it...

    door handle cam kit

I went about doing the cam kit fitting. However on removing the door handle I snapped off the door lock tab. This part is not available as a spare and as replacement handles are scarce and expensive - sh or new. I set about making a replacement part, I rounded the end of the barrel stem where...

    ball joints

As diagnosed during annual vehicle DOE test the side slippage was outside tolerance. This was also evidenced to me by the wearing of the tyres on the outer corners and the tendancy to feel steering wander when I travelled onto the hard shoulder. So I did a search on here and on rave to...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I fitted a good crank shaft pulley from the breakers. Now no more of the banshee howling on start up. I had suspected all bearings driven by the belt but couldn't find a culprit over the last few months. The crank pulley was not giving any clues it was the problem until it started slipping ie...

EAS refusing to rise from access.

I fitted a new compressor last year and soon after it stopped making air. Turned out the flywheel/piston conrod had come loose on the motor shaft. The grub screw had backed off. Simple fix but if yours is under warranty dismantling may not be a good idea.

    tempery hot start fix

I did this http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/2130919-post180.html If you dont have suitable switch you could use a toggle on or just break the wire and twist together when running

    It just won´t rise !!!

Another check: I fitted a new compressor recently which stopped making air after a few days. It transpired that the grubscrew which holds the conrod on the crankshaft had vibrated loose. A drop of loctite sorted it. Maybe it's from the same batch. I was far away from the supplier otherwise it...

    Front bumper removal

Make sure to use the correct TORX socket on the centre bolts. I tried mine with a tight 12pt std socket but damaged the heads. Then it was a bugger of a job.

Nanocom - Where can I buy one?

Point made, I think there is confusion in the names. I thought it was only me. I had the faultmate NANO which was vin locked. Then by chance I got hold of a rovacomlite which is not vin locked. Now I realise the NANOCOM is the latest which is not vin locked. So be careful with what you buy!

Nanocom - Where can I buy one?

But the nanocom is locked to the vin so you cant help others? unless its the older rovacom or more expensive evo?

    Leaky EAS manual inflation kit

Those are standard 6mm airline fittings. Probably Tucks would have them or other compressed airline suppliers. However they probably just need reseating to stop the leak. Push the pipes in. Maybe re arrange which leg of the tee the pipes go into so there isn't a pull on it as they tend to do due...
