Returned to the beast to check clutch fluid, very low but not empty, topped up, no change. A very nice short wheel base new-ish defender pulls up down the road, very kind driver recommended a local mechanic. We’ll see how that goes.

You’ve all seen those door keep hooks, few work on Landys as they are off set by 20 or 30mm. Bought one as a test to modify it. drilled and tapped a couple of bolts in with a rubber furniture foot added. Now I can remove my Swiss cheese/rusty side runner step.

Anyone know the part number for the fuel pump relay? I guess they a bit generic as pulled out a Ford.

Any of you lovely landy folk know if an Icarsoft EU Pro is good for a 2004 TD5 110 and an 2016 Audi A4? 110 playing up, maybe ECU, parking brake release on the A4! Was hoping to buy a multi car reader to save the cost of 2 separate units. Cheers for any advice. G.

Think I have a faulty ecu. Engine starts on turn over for a few seconds then dies, relay under drivers seat clicks off. What basic checks can I do to confirm it is the ecu. No warnings on the dash. cheers for any pointers. G.

Pump runs for a second or 2 then the relay kicks out. Does this suggest a pump fault? Can I run 12v over the contacts on the bench to test it. Assume the cheapest online replacements are to be avoided? Model that’s in is a VDO, stick with this brand?
