    Don't think it's air, took my time to bleed all the air out the bleed screw ontop of the filter housing. Even with new lift pump and filter it's exactly the same as before. Can the fuel solonoids partially sticky in one place?? The hard starting makes me think that

    Well it's not the lift pump of filter. Still dies if you rev it then lift off, doesn't seem too keen on starting either! Do they have an in tank pump like most cars?

    The speed of that reply is 10x the speed of his 90. I'll get on the left pump, what usually becomes faulty with them? Isn't it just a basic cam driven fuel pump?

    Afternoon diesel fans!! My mates 200tdi is pretty damn slow, slower than it should be. Also tends to cut out if you blip the throttle or sometimes when you dip the clutch to change gear, any ideas? Im not up in my diesels but could it be the lift pump?

    You can swap the whole front timing cover and all the ancillarys from the serp engine onto the non serp one. You'll need to do the whole lot though, front cover pulleys, woodruff key, dizzy drive gear for cam, dizzy itself...basically everything that that is bolted to the front of the block will...

    Burning oil is more likely valve stem oil seals and not the oil control ring on the piston, always worth putting on some new big end bearing, don't buy cheap though I did and ended up doing it again! Personally I'd leave core plugs unless they are leaking, you'll probably end up with more...

    The idle screw should make a difference. You need to block off the hose to the idle control valse to set base idle though. that hose runs to the just by the back of the idle control screw area to the idle control valve hosing it isnt split or broken is it, same goes for the fuel pressure...

    Why not find a v8 engine and drop that in the v8 disco then you wouldn't have to fanny around just to end up driving a dirty dergly diseaseal!

    I looked into custom rads and way too much for a muddy old disco!! I know a good ally farbricator so might see if he can adapt an existing one to make fit

    Just put a switch on the dash...you could get a big red toggle one and pretend to be a pilot!!

    V8 head gasket

    Did the head gaskets on my 97 v8. Pretty straight forward job un bolting job really. Just make sure you have a good 6 sided 16mm socket for the head bolts.

    Mine needs replacing due to going abit rotten. Wouldn't mind putting a nice ally one on that wont rot, something like you get on jap turbo cars. Disco only gets used off road so sees alot of mud in the rad.
