    freelander v discovery td5

Get the TD5, its much better, especially when it comes to reliablilty. The F/L might be more manuverable in the snow for you but the snow won't be here for much longer (or so they reckon). As for the disco not stopping as well as the F/L in snow, remember how much more the disco weighs

    fl2 tyres!

Can you get 215/65 r16's on the FL2 or are they too narrow? If so then you could get some Grabber AT2s on which would be highly advisable in this weather and for if you take it on mud (camping hols perhaps).

    Freelander wheels

You can only get off road tyres of the correct size for the 15". Yes you can fit 16" wheels but make sure they are the right year, post 2000 (I think) are different - you can tell them apart by looking inbetween the bolt holes on the newer type there are holes/dimples and the old ones are solid...

    Is it me...or..

Nothing wrong with synchrones, we have 2 on the front that are only just on the legal limit and almost brand new Scorpian ATRs on the back, how often does it spin? Very rarely and its a V6 - and when it does spin the Pirelli's give it up the kick up the ass and it's fine.

    off road / snow-ice tyres

Post 2001 need different Alloys to the pre 2001, the steels are the same I believe, I think you just need the wheelnuts from the steels to fit them, as I think they are different to the alloy ones. None of the 16" M/Ts (that I have seen) are the right size (215 65s) for the freelander. You can...

    tc light

ABS/wheel speed sensors then, check they are seated correctly. If you do a search for abs sensor or wheel sensors or 3 amigos it should give you some more info. edit: I'm feeling nice, is it the same as this one posted in the main freelander forum rather than the engines one...

    off road / snow-ice tyres

15" steels will fit as long as you have the wheelnuts for the steel wheels, as for off road tyres, Colway C-Trax 195 R15's. This is what you are looking for. (Yes I know they have ended) 4 x Colway C-Trax MT Tyres on Freelander Steel Wheels on eBay (end time 29-Nov-09 15:57:37 GMT)
