    i am considering a 6bt in a spaceframe landy, my dilema is that i want an auto. i can aquire an engine and autobox for a very reasonable rate(if i remove it its mine), but the allison 545 auto doesnt have an overdrive, so it will be buzzing at 60mph and i wonder if it will change gear too...

    no its not the car by me, but not far off. if you need the alpine lights resealing give me shout i know a bloke that will do it. think he charged me £30 to remove, seal and refit.

    loud ticking noise

    try the fuel lines, sounds daft but my old 300tdi started with a loud ticking noise then proceeded to start cutting out. fitted a new lift pump but still noise and losing power/cutting out. found the fuel lines were gummed up, blew them out and all was well again.

    HD springs for me, i fitted them because i was towing a very heavy trailer all the time. when it snowed i found it wouldnt climb a hill that it had flown up before. the hill had a sharp left turn to enter it and the wheels were spinning due to lost articulation.

    can of worms me thinks. a bodyshop i worked for bought a supercharged one when prices were high. after repairing it they lost £25k.

    well after a 6 month break from landrovers i'm back in one. a 1996 met green disco 300tdi. looks like an import, just one little patch on the o/s sill. just need to find a buyer for the mundano v6:o

    looking for a disco 300tdi, prefer a 3door. auto or manual, but no edc. i dont want to spend all winter welding the sills, boot or chassis. obviously a lift and big wheels would sway my choice. my budget is limited and i'm like every other buyer i want a £3k car for £1k:o

    always had a good service from paddocks. only problem was a p38 pollen filter arrived instead of the classic autobox filter, rectified within 36hrs. i normally drive down so i can check what i'm getting, then spend a bit of time in matlock. nice scenery and makes the gf happier about me...
