Pulled for driving a defender in s yorks

Similar thing happened to me on the way to work just before Christmas , at about 5.30 am. I didn't mind either. I told them they should stop any defender out and about between midnight and 6.00 am.

Looking to buy, tips please !

A tad pricey even for this time of year. Well worth going to look at though, as you well get a feel for the car and know what to look for in future.

What do I really need to go green laning?

A decent tow rope or similar is essential. Other than that as has been said you can go a long way on the standard setup, as long as it's in good nick.

Looking to buy, tips please !

Spend lots of time on your back, underneath the defender with a screwdriver. They can be a right mess rust wise and it's not always immediate noticeable, or it's been covered up. Welcome by the way.

    Winter/Snow Tyres?

It's difficult to describe just how good a car on winter tyres is in the snow and hard ice. If I lived somewhere where the weather was worse I.e. Not Essex I would have a set for the defender.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Left it home, and cycled to work.

    Winter/Snow Tyres?

The only muds I driven on in the snow are insa special tracks which were worse than useless. At's will be better, but nothing beats a good winter tyre in the snow and ice. I had winter tyres on my m3 and it turned it from a total death trap in bad conditions into a very grippy car indeed.

    What makes the ultimate Defender?

Forget what posted earlier. Just decent security is enough!

    What makes the ultimate Defender?

    1. Some fairly aggressive A/t's of a generous width and diameter. (Cooper st maxx?) 2. Front and rear LSD's. 3. Decent headlights. 4. Rear work light . 5. Steering guard. If I did more p+p's etc I'd have a suspension lift and lockers.
