not 100% on this but i seem to think the hole size or position of the valve and the shape of the rim says that you cannot fit tubed tyres to a tubless rim,

try again did you take the tub off for welding?

did you have the tub for welding

thats the most likely cause, well known saying if its got tits or wheels it will give you feckin problems

burt oil or oil smelly fumes, could be no/1 spilled oil when topping up running down onto exaust, no/2 too much oil in the air filter oil bath, no/3 seals on the valve stems gone hard allowing oil into bores and burning off in the exaust, or overfilled engine oil. could all so be spewing oil...

dont know the size but the problem of the leak would be from the copper washer if this wasnt replace with a new 1 when you changed the oil.

if the copper washer/s dropped into the bores you would have a big problem, so would the people who make the engines. rest assured they dont, im not sure on 200//300 engines but on oldr ones there are 2 washers a flat 1 and a corrugated 1 and when you tighten the injector bolts the corrugated 1...

there is nothing stopping you from putting it in the tub behinde the seat passenger side. just means you have to drill a hole for the inlet pipe for the fan and re route the water pipes preferbly along the gear box tunnel;

i would of thought have the anchor pins at the front ie your hinges and the struts on the back, have you ever removed gas struts from a hatch back car and then tried to lift the boot lid its feckin heavy, i dont think there would be an issue with weight on a safari top

the 5 bearing engines are bomb proof, they are painted terracota red, for the sake of the price of an head gasket set it would be worth doing about £12. a complete head overhall kit ie valves & guides, + head gasket set less than £50.

if he is running on veggy oil it sounds like the engine as had its chips

common fault if its deisel and its been standing the valve seals go hard which is allowing oil into the valves and then burning in the bores and the only cure is to remove the head and replace the seals not a hard job to do it can be done with out removing the head but if you do it do it...
