I agree completely. The sensible money goes on a disco but if you don't need to be that sensible you get what you want and that would be a Defender. I would prefer to get a good Disco than a shabby money pit of a Defender but if a good quality Defender is an option it would win every time!

Just checked the MOT tester guide as well and front position lamps or lights are what we call side lights so nothing to do with dip and or main beam lights so the front position lamp section in the regulations has nothing to do with roof lights or spot lights so the restrictions in that section...

Mine are wired through the headlights, they have halos on dipped beam and then the spots come on with full beam. They were fitted by Land Rover main dealer before I collected my new (second hand) motor. They did not tell me it was illegal and my warranty covers my next MOT so if there are any...

Could make a new one, would be a lot easier and probably not much difference price wise when you consider what would need replacing.
