    door latch dissambley

Which vehicle are we talking about here. Classic RR is a sealed unit, P38 can be taken apart but dont know of anyone who has gone down this route. It's normally either a failed spring or the motor that wears out, most people just replace the unit as a whole.

Leather seats from an 81 in to 95????

the door cards you describe were not fitted to the classic until around 1987/8 so if they are indeed fitted to an 83 model, it would imply that they havent changed much as far as fixings go. Your 95 model will be the last of the classics so should have the soft dash, not sure what changes were...

Leather seats from an 81 in to 95????

1981 seats in to a 1995 softdash could be a bit tricky, if I remember correctly the seat bases are totally different so some modification would be needed, the dooor cards are totally different so wouldnt fit, 81 had large wood panels that were not part of the door card but lay over the top part...

My 4.6 HSE keeps going wrong!

I suspect the squeal you heard was the belt being forced over a siezed pully. Check the tensioner hasnt seized up, the belt being forced round this will eventually cause it to wear through and snap. Thsi would also explain the alternator fault coming up on the dash. Quite an easy fix and fairly...

    jetwash/steam clean

The problem with jet washing is the force the water is coming out of the nozzle, this can cause water the penetrate electrical components and sometimes even seals. The vehicle is designed to wade through water at reasonable levels with no problem but remember that water and electrics never mix...

1994 RRC 3.9 Auto gear change

Check the cable setup to make sure that the gap is correct by the throttle body. From what I remember, the gearbox locks into an overdrive type setup at around the speed you mention but there shouldnt be an obvious change as such. What revs are you getting through normal driving and gear changes?

    L322 tv signel

Surely you didnt buy the vehicle just for the TV. I appreciate that you want everything to work but reception will be dependant on where are parked. You may be able to get a booster for this but in all honesty is it worth it. Enjoy the vehicle you have bought and dont waste time worrying about...

    LRO Magazine and P38

I'm not so sure, I sent an e-mail to the editor John Pearson politely explaining my stance on the article and he at least acknowledged he had read it. Perhaps if enough people complained they may realise that the article wasnt a true reflection on the model itself.

    Air Suspension on strike!

There is a thermal switch on the pump that prevents overheating and turns the pump off. Are you sure that the air tank is filling up? If it's not lifting at all I would suspect the pump first. Remove the EAS cover and unbolt the pump, turn it upside down and undo the cover plate and then the...

    1996 max speed warning

It sounds from what you say that you have a brake or ABS issue here. The traction control light and ABS light both need a signal from the ABS sensors in order to extinguish, the handbrake light normally doubles as a brake warning light. If you are having to pump your brakes to make them...

4.4 V8 Temp gauge off the red help!

Sounds like an air lock, check for cold spots along the cooling system pipes and tempreture difference across the radiator top and bottom.

    New/recon/rebuild Engine L322 ???

Changing the radiator shouldnt cause anything like you are experiencing. Does the coolant run through the LPG system at all? It may be that you have an air lock causing a problem if thats the case, is the heater blowing hot air. I think the best thing is to start from the beginning and cross off...

    New/recon/rebuild Engine L322 ???

Can you switch the LPG off fully? Maybe somewhere to start. To have that much smoke I would suspect that if there was an engine issue, you would either be losing coolant very quickly or emptying your oil at an alarming rate. How are the levels on these?

    LRO Magazine and P38

Hi Chip, I know what you mean, and I would like a Defender too, I guess that the Defender has been the bread & butter of Land Rover for so many years and is still the best off roader around and thats why it gets the coverage that it does but I would still like to see a better mix of info on all...

    New/recon/rebuild Engine L322 ???

This may sound like a stupid comment but you do have the right fuel in the car?

    LRO Magazine and P38

I'm not sure why I buy the mag either, just hopeful like the rest I guess that there may be something of interest. I have noticed over the years that there are less articles now and more adverts, I understand that they need to raise revenue but a balance would be nice. I also think that the mag...

    LRO Magazine and P38

Hi Adam, I agree with your points. I was amazed at the figures they were coming up with for repairs, and that they say that the BECM is on it's way out, when in fact the fault is just 2 worn door latches and quite a common problem. You have to wonder if they followed their own advice before...

    LRO Magazine and P38

Has anyone else read the latest issue of the LRO magazine. They have an article slating the P38 and advising that no one buys one. By it's very nature, the magazine states it's for Land Rover Owners. Now I know there are problems with some P38's as there are with Discovery, Series 1,2,&3 etc but...

    Range Rover 4.6hse Problems

I take it from your post the the open book symbol is not showing on the display? Can you manually direct the airflow using the buttons on the HEVAC control unit and do all variations work as they should, i.e. screen only blows only to the screen etc? Have you checked if warm water is entering...

    55 Plate Vogue

The TD6 is a reliable unit so with good servicing, should serve you weel. There has been notice of a recall regarding the front diff and prop, not sure what years are affected but worth mentioning before you buy. If it's from a dealer, they should rectify this before you purchase, if from a...
