i know nothing about the hawkeye but i know most on rovers use the t-300 it has landrover listed and a member on another forum makes a lead just for the mems system is it worth looking into that much cheaper at £100 Ron

i have put the question up on another forum that had a freelander section i am a member of to see if any have used the t-300 i will be getting one for my mg and will test it on a freelander when i get one later in the year Ron

on early mg's we use a t-300 not sure if they use it on freelanders it not only does rover's but many other cars as well also does the key fobs mainly used as it works on cars before 2001 as well as later models there is a guy on another forum and on ebay that sells the extra lead you need...

if its just the valves bent i found on mine it was cheaper to get another head being £30 from my local friendly scrappy when you get the head gasket set ML/steel make sure its a full set with head bolts and valve stem oil seals Ron

thanks Freelander mrs will never part with her mgf so i have 2 sheds full of parts may have to get another 2 sheds for freelander parts :D i am amazed how so many say head gasket so often when it is such an easy fix come to that the head gasket is so easy to replace as well Ron

am looking at getting a freelander in the next 3-4 mths around the year 2000 but joined the forum early to get as much info as i can about them i have no problem with the 1.8 engine as i own x2 mgf's and know what to look for i hope to learn and help as i can Ron
