    Some opinions needed

I'd go V8 if I were you,if you can afford that bit extra for fuel and don't mind getting your hands dirty when you go that bit too deep in water and it cuts out then the V8 is for you. A lot of people keep going on about V8's being no good in water but there's a lot more to offroading than...

    V8 Exhaust

It's a matter of trail and error to get the sound you want but I've found the best solution is straight through from the downpipes into one single pipe to the rear and then a cherrybomb/performance back box right at the end. I tried loads of different back boxes even a racing can off a bike but...

    Strata Florida??

That place is very unpredictable,we went one Christmas only to find 7" thick ice pools and the river was frozen over! Bit nerve racking driving over it  Greenlaning in Wales 27/12/2010 - YouTube Frozen river crossing in Wales - YouTube Frozen river crossing in Wales no2 - YouTube

    Snorkels and petrol engines ?

I have snorkels on the series and have waterproofed the dizzy and coil and it does good in water,i've regularly had it deep enough to be over the bonnet but wouldn't like to be stationary in water that deep,i'll leave that for the diesels :)

    High torque starter motor

A simple way of testing if it's the starter or the battery is to a try starting it with the headlights on,if they go very dim when it struggles to start it's the battery that's faulty and if they stay bright'ish when it's starts to turn over slow it's the starter. I've never fitted a High...

    Am i little puzzled

I'd also check the tyres to see if they have any uneven treads or are mishaped at all as that could cause it too.

    Chuffed to bits... S2a, V8.

I've gone both 3.54 diffs (standard in disco axles) and an overdrive because with the higher ratio theres a big difference from 3rd to 4th gear so it's nice to have the overdrive to pop in when it's in 3rd gear as sometimes 4th is too high (long hills etc) ;)

    Chuffed to bits... S2a, V8.

Rangie diffs are stronger than standard series but are still 10 spline so the shafts are still the weak point. If its used just on the road and driven correctly you shouldn't have a problem,it's a lot of work to fit disco axles (I fitted them to my 2a) and they are more up for the job but then...
